The Fifth Third Scholarship Program awards scholarships each year to children of Fifth Third Bank employees. The foundation has awarded 135 scholarships since the program began in 2005, totaling almost $350,000.
To be eligible, students must have a parent who works at Fifth Third Bank and a grade point average of 3.0 or above. The scholarships are a way for Fifth Third Bank to recognize the academic achievements of many students and enable them financially to further their education. It is also a way for the bank to give back to their employees.
Winners are selected and awards made by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. This non profit organization works with corporations and foundations who want to sponsor college scholarships. They are recognized for their work in identifying exceptional students who will receive scholarships.
Fifth Third Bank has locations throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Florida, Tennessee, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Georgia and North Carolina, providing many children of Fifth Third Bank an opportunity to apply for this scholarship.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500.
