Marine Corps Foundation Scholarship

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
The Marine Corps Foundation Scholarship program has awarded more than 30,000 scholarships totaling over $70 million since its beginning in 1962. In order to qualify, students must have a parent who is an active duty or reserve Marine, a Marine killed in action or who received an honorable or medical discharge.

Other qualifications include a grade point average of 2.0 or higher, pursuing a four-year or technical program at an accredited college or technical school, and family income not exceeding $90,000 a year. The scholarship awards range anywhere from $6,000 up to $40,000 for four years.

For fifty years, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation has been giving need-based scholarships to help Marine families pay for their children's education. Priority is given to children whose Marine parents have been wounded or killed in action. Their goal is to ensure children from Marine families have an opportunity to pursue their higher education goals and also reduce student debt.

Students receiving scholarships from the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation are able to use the money for not only college tuition but also other college expenses.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $6,000 - $40,000.
