W. Price Jr. Memorial Scholarship

W. Price Jr. Memorial Scholarship
The W. Price Jr. Memorial Scholarship is open to students in Texas pursuing a career in the food service industry. It is named after W. Price Jr. who was the executive director of the Texas Restaurant Association from 1953 to 1974.

The Texas Restaurant Association (TRA) Education Foundation, founded in 1994, provides scholarships for students to attend a university, culinary college or two-year college. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a food service or hospitality program that leads to either a two- or four-year degree.

In order to apply, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 in their major (food service or hospitality) with an overall grade point average of 2.75. They must live in Texas but can attend a school outside of the state.

Two students enrolled in a four-year college program will be awarded a scholarship of $5,000 each. Students attending a two-year college are eligible to win scholarships of $2,000 each. The scholarships are presented each year by the Texas Restaurant Association.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000 - $5,000.
