Employees must have worked for a division of Walmart at least six months in order to be eligible and must also demonstrate financial need. Awards are based on the type of education program chosen. The Walmart Dependent Scholarship is for children or dependents of U.S. Walmart or Sam's Club employees. They also must show financial need and maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. This scholarship awards $13,000 over a four-year college program.
The Walmart Foundation supports education, workforce development, environmental programs, and health and wellness initiatives. The foundation recently donated $10 million in academic scholarships to further the education of their employees and the children of Walmart employees.
