Eligible students must plan to attend a four-year college or university full time and enroll in a marine biology, marine/ocean engineering, or oceanography course of study. Students or their parents must also be members of Marine Technology Society.
The Marine Technology Society (MTS) was founded in 1963. The Society dispenses information on marine technology that will increase understanding of global issues and the sustainable use of the oceans. They also promote marine technology through educational programs.
In addition to the Charles H. Bussman Undergraduate Scholarship awards, there are scholarships available to students who are not members of MTS. These scholarships range from $2,000 to $8,000.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500.
