Don't Mess With Texas Scholarship Program
Don't Mess With Texas Scholarship Program is available to high school seniors in the state of Texas to attend either a two-year or four-year public or private college or university in Texas. The scholarships are open to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens.

Don't Mess With Texas is the name of a campaign in the state of Texas to prevent litter and keep the state beautiful. It is sponsored by the Texas Department of Transportation. The scholarships encourage more students to appreciate and become involved in the litter prevention effort.

Students who apply for the scholarships are required to write an essay explaining how they resolved a litter problem at their school or in their community. First prize winners receive a $3,000 scholarship, second and third place winners each receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The scholarships are made possible through donations from corporations and is part of the Keep Texas Beautiful initiative. The scholarships have been awarded to Texas students since 2003.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 $3,000.
