GEF Corporate Leadership & Memorial Scholarships

GEF Corporate Leadership & Memorial Scholarships
GEF Corporate Leadership & Memorial Scholarships are awarded one time only to U.S. students interested in a career in graphics, graphic arts and printing. Students must be enrolled or plan to enroll full-time in a four-year college or university.

Nine different corporate and memorial scholarships are funded by the Gravure Education Foundation (GEF), part of the Gravure Association of America. Students must be interested in studying the gravure process, which is a highly technical printing process used for publications, catalogs, newspaper supplements, labels, cartons, packaging, gift-wrap, wall and floor coverings, and precision coating applications.

Corporate-sponsored scholarships include Alcoa Foundation Scholarship, J C Penney, National Geographic Society, Fres-Co System USA, Packaging Corporation of America, the Cerutti Group, and the Gravure Publishing Company Scholarship. Memorial scholarships include the Harry V. Quadracci Memorial Scholarship and the Werner B. Thiele Memorial Scholarship.

Eligible students must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or above, show leadership in volunteer or community work, sports or extracurricular activities, and attend a GEF funded college. Most of the scholarships may be used in the sophomore, junior, senior or graduate year of college.

The Gravure Association of America, Inc., originally part of a technical institute and a research company dating back to 1947, is a trade association founded in 1987 to support the printing industry and the use of the gravure printing process. The Gravure Education Foundation was established in 1979 to raise funds to support gravure education. At least 16 scholarships are awarded each year.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,500.
