American Indian Science and Engineering Society National Scholarships
American Indian Science and Engineering Society National Scholarships have three different scholarship opportunities available for students who are of American Indian descent. Students must be planning to attend college to pursue a four-year college degree.

The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Foundation Scholarship is for American Indian tribe, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian high school seniors who live in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas and Washington. A grade point average of 2.0 or above is required. Eligible fields of study include business, engineering, math, education, science, medicine, health, and technology.

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) Intel Scholarship is for American Indian and Alaska Native students interested in studying computer science, or computer/electrical/chemical engineering. A grade point average of 3.0 or above is required.

The A.T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students who are of American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian heritage and members of AISES pursuing degrees in the sciences, engineering, medicine, natural resources, math and technology. This scholarship requires a grade point average of 3.0 or above.

The scholarships are funded through AISES, a non-profit, member-based organization located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, established in 1977 to support American Indians and Alaska Natives in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Through the work of 3,000 members and 177 higher education chapters in the U.S. and Canada, the organization provides educational opportunities as well as professional support for American Indians and Alaska Natives. Since its beginning, it has also awarded over $8.7 million in scholarships to 4,924 students.

The deadline for this scholarship VARIES each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $2,500.
