Monsanto Canada Opportunity Scholarship Program
Monsanto Canada Opportunity Scholarship Program awards up to 60 scholarships per year to Canadian students who are interested in a career in agriculture. Eligible students must be high school students entering college for the first time.

Applicants must be citizens of Canada who are planning to enroll full-time at a four-year college or technical school. Eligible fields of study include agribusiness, agriculture, science, technology and society. Students applying will be required to complete a 300-500 word essay describing their career plans in the field of agriculture. The scholarship is awarded one time only to students from agriculture backgrounds.

Monsanto Canada, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, is a large producer of seeds, weed control and crop protection chemicals for the farming industry. Monsanto also has headquarters in the U.S. in St. Louis, Missouri, and has other locations throughout the world.

The scholarship is supported by Monsanto Canada and the Monsanto Fund to ensure that students from farm families have an opportunity to attend college. The scholarship was formed to support agriculture careers for young people and strengthen the future of the Canadian agriculture industry.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,500.
