TG's Charley Wootan Grant Program

TG's Charley Wootan Grant ProgramTG's Charley Wootan Grant Program is designed to help college students living in the state of Texas who have financial need and are attending or planning to attend either a two-year or four-year college or university.

Students from Texas, and in particular, the geographic areas of Beaumont, Huntsville, Wichita Falls, Abilene, San Angelo and Midland are encouraged to apply. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship, permanent residents in the state of Texas, eligible to receive Title IV financial aid funding, able to demonstrate financial need, and currently enrolled or planning to enroll part-time or full-time a two-year or four-year college or university.

Students may choose to attend a college inside or outside Texas. Applicants must be students in good standing at their chosen institution. No other grade point average or merit requirements are necessary. The grant is not currently renewable.

The grant is sponsored by Texas Guaranteed (TG) Student Loan Corporation. TG was created in 1979 by the Texas Legislature and is a non-profit coporation that provides resources to help students afford college. The grant is named in honor of Dr. Charley V. Wootan in recognition of his generous contributions and service to the state of Texas and the nation.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MAY of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $4,000.
