Four scholarships are awarded each year to students with excellent academic records and volunteer work that demonstrates their commitment to their communities. Students must be entering their third or fourth year of a dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and have financial need.
Students must be attending dental school full-time in order to apply and be in good academic standing. They must have a strong desire to serve the needs of their community through volunteer work. Applications should include information about their involvement in community activities and projects.
The scholarship is offered through the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports programs which improve oral health care. The organization was formed in 2002 and is located in Arlington, Virginia. The scholarship is funded by DTAF, with further support from The Robert J. Sullivan Family Foundation and the Shils Foundation.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in SEPTEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
