ICMA-RC Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund
ICMA-RC Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to the surviving spouses and children of employees who have died in the line of duty. It is open to high school seniors, college undergraduate and graduate students.

Applicants must plan to enroll or be enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school. They must be the survivors of police officers, firefighters, and other local and state government employees who have died in the line of duty. The scholarship is awarded to students with academic merit as well as financial need. The scholarship can be used for tuition and fees.


The scholarship is sponsored by the ICMA-RC Memorial Scholarship Fund, a non-profit organization founded in 2001 to honor the lives of the nation’s police officers, firefighters, and other government employees who have died in service to their communities. The fund has given more than $860,000 in scholarships to deserving students.

ICMA-RC is a non-profit financial services corporation that provides retirement plans and other services to public employees. They service more than one million public employees.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $10,000.
