American Association of Candy Technologists' John Kitt Memorial Scholarship

American Association of Candy Technologists John Kitt Memorial Scholarship
The American Association of Candy Technologists' John Kitt Memorial Scholarship is open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors. This scholarship is for students interested in confectionery technology.

Applicants should be majors in the areas of food science, chemical science, biological science, or other areas that are related. A grade point average of 3.0 is required. Interested students must be enrolled in a four-year, accredited college or university in North America.

When applying for the scholarship, students will be asked to describe activities they have been involved in that relate to confectionery technology. In addition, students will need to include any work experience, extracurricular or volunteer work, and awards earned. A transcript of college coursework should be included.

The scholarship is sponsored by the American Association of Candy Technologists, an organization formed in 1947 that supports research and discussion among professionals at all levels of confectionery production. The consolidation and sharing of information throughout the years has resulted in a more technical and scientific approach to making candy.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
