Eligibility requirements are for students to be planning to attend or currently attending a U.S., accredited 2-year, 4-year or vocational or trade school. Students must also be motivated to use their education in some way that will better their lives and their communities.
When applying, students must answer an essay question regarding their career goals, how their education will them attain those goals, or their experience with work or volunteering in their communities.
The scholarship is sponsored by the College JumpStart Scholarship Fund in Los Altos, California. It is funded through corporate donations.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in OCTOBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,500.
