The Earl Woods Scholarship Program

The Earl Woods Scholarship Program
The Earl Woods Scholarship Program offers tuition and other financial assistance to high school junior and seniors from Orange County, California, and Washington, D.C. Applicants must have strong academics, a demonstrated interest in community service and financial need.

Eligible students must be planning to attend full-time a four-year, accredited college or university in the U.S. In addition to the scholarship, the program includes mentoring from degreed professionals who are interested in helping students prepare for successful careers following graduation.

Each year since the program was established in 2006, 10 deserving students are able to attend college through the Earl Woods Scholarship Program. The program includes tuition, financial assistance, admissions counseling, mentoring, workshops and internship opportunities.

Named after Earl Woods, father of golf pro Tiger Woods, the scholarship program is a tribute to Earl Woods' dedication to supporting the goals of young people. The first scholarships awarded totaled five from Orange County, California, and has now grown to 60 scholars all across the world. It is sponsored by the Tiger Woods Foundation.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
