March of Dimes Graduate Nursing Scholarship

March of Dimes Graduate Nursing Scholarship
March of Dimes Graduate Nursing Scholarship is available to registered nurses who are enrolled in a maternal child nursing program and pursuing a masters or doctorate degree.

Applicants must be members of at least one organization related to their field of nursing, including the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, the American College of Nurse-Midwives, or the National Association of Neonatal Nurses. They must also be within one term of completion of their nursing program.

Four scholarships are awarded each year to deserving nursing students who are enrolled in advanced degree programs in the field of maternal child nursing. This can include studies in family practice nursing, nurse practitioner, pediatric nurse or midwife.

The scholarship is offered by the March of Dimes, a non-profit organization formed in 1938 to help fight against polio. A shortage of nurses during and after WWII encouraged the organization to support the work of nurses. The scholarship helps nurses to achieve their goals in the field of nursing.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JANUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
