Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarships For Women Educators

Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarships For Women Educators awards up to 30 scholarships a year for women pursuing advanced degrees, including Master's and Ph.D. The scholarships are for women educators who want to continue their professional growth in the field of education.

The scholarships are named after women who have made significant contributions in the area of education. Examples include Annie Webb Blanton for whom a scholarship was established in 1939. She held three degrees, including a Doctor of Philosophy from Cornell, taught at North Texas State University and the University of Texas, became the first woman president of the Texas State Teachers Association and ran for Congress after completing her position as state superintendent of public instruction.

The scholarships are for members of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. Member educators from around the world who are pursuing graduate studies are encouraged to apply.

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (DKG) is a professional honorary Society of women educators located in Austin, Texas. Since the organization formed the scholarship program in 1940, the organization has awarded $4,611,500 in scholarships to 1,073 members.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $6,000 - $10,000.
