The Dr. Sherrie Ford Manufacturing as a Career Path Scholarship
The Dr. Sherrie Ford Manufacturing as a Career Path Scholarship is for students pursuing a career in the field of manufacturing. High school seniors as well as those in the workforce who are planning to attend college may apply.

Applicants must plan to attend an accredited college or trade school and have a grade point average of 2.5 or above which must be maintained in order to keep the scholarship. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books and other college-related expenses required as part of the curriculum. Students may pursue a degree or a certification in manufacturing.

A total of 15 scholarships are awarded each year. In addition to the scholarship, recipients will receive a signing bonus after completing their schooling and receiving a position in the manufacturing industry. Applicants must be sponsored and mentored by an Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) Board member, Champions Club member or other manufacturing professional organization.

The scholarship is sponsored by the AME Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and fostering knowledge and resources among people in the manufacturing industry, and by Kronos, a company that supplies workforce management solutions. The scholarship is named for Dr. Sherrie Ford, an Athens, Georgia business owner who dedicated her life to improving small manufacturing systems across the country.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JUNE of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,500.
