Eligible students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or above. They must plan to enroll in either a two- or four-year college, university or technical school in Alabama. They must also be members of the Alabama Farmers Federation. The scholarship money can be used to help cover the cost of tuition. Current college undergraduate students may also apply.
Criteria for selection of scholarship recipient is based on academic achievement as well as commitment to community through volunteer work. Applicants must have strong leadership skills and career goals.
The scholarship is offered by the Alabama Farmers Federation Foundation, the largest farm organization in the state of Alabama. The organization was formed in 1921 and continues to support the interests of farmers in the state of Alabama.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JUNE of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
