The American Petroleum Institute Scholarship
The American Petroleum Institute Scholarship is offered to high school students as well as current undergraduate and graduate college students who are pursuing careers in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering, Geology and the sciences. The scholarships are offered through the API - Delta Chapter scholarship program.

Applicants must be API-Delta Chapter members in good standing and have a grade point average of 2.5 or above. High school students planning to attend a four-year college full time are eligible, as well as current full-time students working toward a Bachelors or Masters degree.

The scholarship is not automatically renewable; however, students may reapply for the scholarship each year until they graduate. To apply, students may submit a completed application form along with a college or high school transcript (ACT or SAT score reports are also required for entering freshmen). They must also complete a 400-600 word essay.

The American Petroleum Institute Delta Chapter is located in New Orleans and is dedicated to serving the local oil and gas industry as well as the surrounding community. The purpose of the scholarship is to help students reach their full potential in life through education.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
