The Bank of America Merrill Lynch Scholarship of Distinction is open to minority students who want to pursue careers in the financial industry. Eligible candidates include women, African Americans, LGBT, Hispanics, Native Americans, military veterans, and students with disabilities.

The scholarship is for students interested in a career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Applicants must be full-time students with a minimum GPA of 3.2 or above who are pursing a BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in the U.S. Candidates must have excellent performance both in and outside the classroom.

Ideal candidates are those who can demonstrate superior academic performance and who are also involved in extracurricular and professional activities. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize high achieving candidates from historically underrepresented groups and give them the opportunity to complete their education and pursue a career within the financial services industry.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch is the corporate and investment banking division of Bank of America that offers services in mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets, lending, trading, risk management, research, and liquidity and payments management. The company was formed in 2009 through the combination of the corporate and investment banking activities of Bank of America and Merrill Lynch.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in NOVEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000 - $10,000.
