Vinson and Elkins Scholarship
Vinson and Elkins Scholarship is open to high school seniors of African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, or Pacific Islander origins who live in the greater Houston, Dallas, and Austin areas. It is for students who are pursuing careers in law.

Applicants must rank in the top 20 percent of their class, have an SAT score of 1650 or higher, demonstrate financial need, and plan to pursue a career in law. All applicants must be U.S. citizens and residents of Houston, Dallas, Austin, or surrounding areas for seven continuous years.

Vinson & Elkins LLP began in Houston, Texas, in 1917. The company has been named one of the 2013 “Best Companies to Work for in Texas” by Texas Monthly and the Texas Association of Business, and named in 2015 as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $10,000.
