The American Academy of Dramatic Arts Scholarships offer financial aid assistance to students interested in studying theater and the arts. Scholarships are awarded based on merit as well as financial need.

Applicants must be second-year students attending The Academy, which has locations in both New York and Los Angeles. Many endowed scholarships are available and have been established by famous stars of theater, music and movies. Such well-known artists like Spencer Tracy, Princess Grace, Neil Simon, Kirk Douglas, and Julie Harris have scholarships named after them.

Students may apply for any one of the scholarships by writing to the Academy’s Scholarship Committee. In addition, The Academy also helps first-year students who have financial need; assistance is awarded based on their application and the quality of their audition when applying to the Academy.

The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) is a two-year performing arts school with locations in Manhattan, New York City and in Los Angeles, California. The school was established in 1884 and offers professional training for the theatre, film and television. It is considered the first and finest acting school in America.

The deadline for this scholarship VARIES each year, and the award amount is usually $12,500.
