AWS Foundation-Praxair International Scholarship
AWS Foundation-Praxair International Scholarship awards scholarships every year to college students interested in pursuing a career in welding engineering or welding engineering technology. Applicants must be citizens of the U.S. or Canada and plan to attend a college or university in the U.S. or Canada.

Candidates need a grade point average of 2.5 or higher to apply. Students must be 18 years old and plan to pursue a four-year bachelors degree in welding engineering or welding engineering technology. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years; recipients must reapply each year for the scholarship.

In addition to academics, students must have leadership qualities demonstrated through their participation in either school activities or community volunteer work. Scholarship money may be used for tuition and books.

It is the largest industrial gases company in North and South America, and the third-largest in the world based on revenue. The American Welding Society (AWS) is a non-profit organization that supports the welding industry. It was founded in 1919 and is headquartered in Miami, Florida.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,500.
