Francis was known as a quintessential self-made man who always looked for ways to help others find opportunities in the salon business, and so The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation was established in 1994 to memorialize his life and achievements.
Applicants must be currently applying for entrance into Cosmetology/Barber School, OR actively enrolled in a Cosmetology/Barber program. An application must be submitted, as well as a one-page essay, and one or two letters or recommendation.
Winners are selected by an independent committee composed of the board of directors and others in the professional beauty industry. If chosen as a winner, half of the scholarship will be paid in September, and the other half will be paid the month of the year you graduate.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JUNE of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000.
