The Hertz Foundation Graduate Fellowship Award
Students who have completed their Masters program and are entering their first year PhD program may apply as long as the PhD program is in the same field. Candidates must attend one of the Hertz Fellows participating schools.
The Graduate Fellowship Award is merit-based. It includes a cost-of-education allowance that is accepted by all of the participating schools as payment for all tuition and fees. It also includes a stipend for personal support.
The Hertz Foundation is a not-for-profit organization which provides fellowships for exceptional students at over 40 of the finest universities for graduate work that will result in a PhD degree in the physical sciences. Between 15-20 students each year receive a Fellowship Award.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in OCTOBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $32,000 - $38,000.
