Students may major in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Business, Law, International Relations, Political Science, Operations Research, Economics, and other related fields that lead to careers in national security and defense.
Applicants must be female with a GPA of 3.25 or above who are attending an accredited college or university. Up to 5 or more awards are made to deserving women twice per year with deadlines in July and November each year.
Women in Defense (WID) is a National Security Organization and an affiliate of the NDIA, National Defense Industrial Organization. The non-profit organization supports the advancement and recognition of women in all areas of national security and defense. HORIZONS has made 125 awards since 1990 totaling more than $268,000 to women who are pursuing education and a career in national security.
The deadline for this scholarship VARIES each year, and the award amount is usually $3,000 - $18,000.
