Rhythm Nations/ Janet Jackson Endowed Scholarship

The Rhythm Nations/ Janet Jackson Endowed Scholarship is open to students who are currently enrolled at United Negro College Fund (UNCF) member institutions, and are majoring in Communications, Education, English, Fine Arts, Journalism, Mass Communications, Mass Media Arts, Music, Photography/Video, TV Production, and/or Visual Arts.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals or permanent residents, and also must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants will also be required to submit an essay of no more than 1,000 words related to artistic influence and the HBCU experience. The scholarship award will depend on the financial need of the student as verified by the attending University or College.

The Rhythm Nations/ Janet Jackson Endowed Scholarship is managed by UNCF, the nation's largest and most effective minority education organization. Since 1944, the organization has raised more than $4.5 billion to help more than 400,000 students receive college degrees at UNCF-member institutions and with UNCF scholarships. UNCF plays a critical role in enabling more than 60,000 students each year to attend college and get the education they need

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in OCTOBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
