AWG Lone Star Rising Career Scholarship
Applicants can be either non-traditional students or those who are currently not in the workforce but have previous work experience in a geoscience-related field with a career goal to reenter the workforce. Candidates must be citizens of the United States; they do not need to live in Texas or be members of the Association For Women Geoscientists (AWG) to apply.
Eligible candidates may apply online by completing an application and including a one-page description of their academic qualifications, professional work history, and any activities completed that relate to a geoscience field. Applicants must also describe how the scholarship will help them achieve their professional goals.
The Association for Women Geoscientists is a professional organization that supports the professional development of its members and encourages women to become geoscientists. Chapters are located in various cities throughout the country.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in OCTOBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $3,000.
