Majors that are eligible for a scholarship include geology, geophysics or physics; chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, petroleum, geological, or geophysical engineering. Candidates must be full-time students in their sophomore, junior or senior year of college. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.20 or above in order to be eligible.
Scholarship money may be used to pay for tuition and/or school expenses. Eligible students may apply online by submitting a completed application, along with a grade transcript, resume, and any other required documentation. Scholarships may be renewed up to four years, or until a bachelor degree is earned.
The scholarship is sponsored by Shell Oil Company, one of America's largest oil and natural gas producers, natural gas marketers, gasoline marketers and petrochemical manufacturers. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
