The Krishnan Shah Scholarship is open to high school students planning to pursue a degree at a four-year college or university. It is also open to students who are currently attending a community college and plan to transfer to a four-year college. Students must reside in California.

The scholarship is for students who are pursing their first undergraduate degree. Applicants must reside in California and have a GPA of 3.0 or above. In addition, applicants are chosen based on their demonstrated involvement in activities, which can include extracurricular, volunteer, or paid.

Up to five scholarships are awarded every year. The scholarships are paid across four years of college. Applications must be submitted through an online portal. Required supporting documents include a personal statement, letters of reference, and academic transcripts.

The Krishnan Shah Scholarship was established by Ajay Shah, Lata Krishnan and their family. The husband and wife team formed a California company called SMART, which produces memory modules and cards for computers and other devices. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support to help California students complete their undergraduate degree. The scholarship is managed through the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in FEBRUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $40,000.
