Alpha Kappa Alpha Scholarships

Alpha Kappa Alpha Scholarships are open to full-time college sophomores or above. Applicants must be attending an accredited college or university and working towards a degree.

Three different scholarships are offered. The Merit Scholarship is for college sophomores or above who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 ("B" average) and a record of community service and involvement. The Financial Need Scholarship is open to college sophomores or above who can demonstrate financial need. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or above and a record of community involvement.

The third scholarship is the Youth Partners Accessing Capital (P.A.C.) scholarship for college sophomores or above who are members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. They must demonstrate extreme financial need and involvement in civic or campus activities.

The scholarships are offered by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation. The Educational Advancement Foundation was founded in 1980 by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the first Greek letter organization and one of the few women's organizations to operate a federally funded Job Corps.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
