The fellowship is sponsored by The American Educational Research Association (AERA), a national research society located in Washington, D.C. The organization focuses on the importance of education and fosters the use of research to improve education and the public good.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in NOVEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $19,000.
