Candidates can major in any field of their choice. Students may apply by writing a 1200 word essay on the topic of how alcohol abuse and addiction affects society and what steps can be taken to decrease the impact of alcohol abuse and addictions on people and society. Applicants must be 18 years old or older.
Three scholarships will be awarded. First, second, and third place winners will each receive different amounts in scholarship money. Scholarship money may be used to pay for college tuition and education-related expenses.
The scholarship is offered by AlcoRehab, an organization that provides free support and resources for people who are fighting alcohol addiction. It is not a treatment center but provides up-to-date, reliable sources for people suffering from alcoholism. The purpose of the scholarship is to raise awareness of the dangers of alcohol abuse and addiction.
