AFCEA Scholarships are offered to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled and attending full time at four-year colleges or universities in the United States. Several scholarships are offered, ranging from chapter scholarships and education scholarships to diversity, teacher, STEM majors and veterans.

Scholarships include:

  • Ralph W. Shrader Graduate Diversity Scholarship - for women and minority graduate students studying science, technology, engineering or math (STEM)



  • STEM Teacher Scholarships - for students actively pursuing a graduate degree or credential/licensure for the purpose of teaching science, technology, engineering or math (STEM)
  • ROTC scholarships - Reserve Officer Training Corp scholarships are awarded to students enrolled full-time in C4I-related major and other specific related areas of study, including Army, Navy Marine Corps or Air Force
  • War Veterans Scholarships - merit-based scholarships are awarded to persons on active duty in the uniformed military services and to honorably discharged U.S. military veterans

Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or above. Scholarship awards are restricted to use for tuition and mandatory educational fees. Interested students should check the specific requirements for each scholarship before applying.

The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), established in 1946, is a non-profit membership association serving the military, government, industry, and academia for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, information technology, intelligence, and security. AFCEA has 31,626 individual members, 151 chapters and 1,571 corporate members.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount is usually $3,000 - $5,000.
