Students may apply for a scholarship by completing a one-page application and an essay on "The Importance of Establishing and Maintaining Good Financial Credit During Your College Years." Essay topics may change yearly. The scholarship is available to any California high school senior, and they may use the scholarship at any accredited college, university, or trade school.
Scholarships are awarded as first, second, and third place prizes. The students are recognized at the annual CACESF Scholarship Banquet where they each have an opportunity to read their essays in front of CACESF members.
The Educational Scholarship Foundation was founded in 2005 by the California Association of Collectors (CAC ESF) as a non-profit, charitable corporation. The CAC was founded in 1917 and is a professional organization of collection professionals in the country.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,500 - $2,500.
