Mae and Mary Legacy Foundation Scholarship is open to graduating high school students who are of African American descent. The scholarship is based on academic excellence and financial need.

Applicants must be African American students from anywhere in the U.S. They may choose to attend a two- or four-year university or technical school. Applicants must be pursuing careers in the health care profession.

To apply, students must send a personal essay describing their education and career goals, school and extra-curricular activities, hobbies and interests, other awards and recognitions and community and religious involvement. A recent college transcript of grades, two letters of recommendation, a recent photo, and a copy of a letter of college acceptance are also required.

Mae and Mary Legacy Foundation is a charitable, educational non-profit organization dedicated to improving overall wellness awareness within the African American community. Tuania Wright founded Mae and Mary Legacy Foundation in memory of her grandmothers, Trudy Mae Shackleford (1924-1976), and Mary Louise Wright (1930-2004). The foundation is located in Durham, North Carolina.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in APRIL of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
