Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or above and be of good moral character with high initiative. Students do not need to major in law in order to apply.
To apply, candidates must complete an online application. They must also submit a 300-500-word essay that describes a time when the student faced a significant ethical dilemma, detailing the situation and how they handled it. In addition, a grade transcript is required, one letter of reference and a cover letter in which the students explains why they should be chosen for the scholarship.
The scholarship is sponsored by The Krist Law Firm, P.C., a Houston, Texas law firm that specializes in representing individuals who have been injured in commercial trucking accidents, maritime accidents, and many other types of accidents.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $10,000.
