The Cargill Global Scholars Program is open to first- or second-year university students who have excellent academic records. Students from the U.S., Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, and Russia may apply.

Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need, who are from a disadvantaged or underrepresented group within their country, and to those who specialize in fields of study that are considered preferred fields in their country.

Eligible majors include agriculture-related field, biochemistry, biology, business, computer science, economics, engineering, environmental studies, food science, international relations, political science and public policy. Applicants must be full-time students who have strong leadership qualities and high academic performance.

Cargill, Inc. is an American privately-held global corporation based in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Cargill's major businesses are trading, purchasing and distributing grain and other agricultural commodities. The Cargill Global Scholars Program (CGSP) is a distinctive, two-year scholarship program that provides financial support to undergraduate students in Brazil, China, India, Russia, Indonesia and the United States.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $5,000.
