AWG Minority Scholarship Program For Women

The AWG Minority Scholarship program encourages young minority women to pursue courses of education and careers in the field of geosciences. The program, not only provides financial aid to assist with tuition and book, but also matches students with mentors who can offer guidance and support.

Funded by the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG), an international organization devoted to enhancing the quality and level of participation of women in geosciences, the program requires that all applicants to this scholarship are women who are either African-American, Hispanic, or Native American.

Beyonce's Homecoming Scholars Award Program

Beyoncé, through her BeyGOOD initiative, has established the Homecoming Scholars Award Program for students attending Xavier University, Wilberforce University, Tuskegee University and Bethune-Cookman University - all Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Beyoncé announced the program when she made history at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival by becoming the first Black woman to headline in the festival's 19-year run.

AAAA Foundation’s LeCount R. and Jewel W. Davis Scholarship

The Association of African American Financial Advisors (AAAA) Foundation’s LeCount R. and Jewel W. Davis Scholarship provides financial assistance to deserving African American undergraduate students who are enrolled full-time at a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) CFP Board-Registered Program.

Eligible students must be pursuing a career in financial planning, a rising junior or senior, and have a strong academic record with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicants who are active in community service and shows exceptional leadership potential have higher chances.

Thurgood Marshall/ MillerCoors National Scholarship

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and MillerCoors are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of the 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) within the TMCF member-school network.

The TMCF/ MillerCoors Scholarship is open to students with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selected scholars will receive a one-year scholarship for the academic school year, which can be used to cover the costs of tuition and fees, on-campus room and board and required textbooks purchased from member schools.

Jay-Z's Shawn Carter Foundation Scholarship

The Shawn Carter Foundation Scholarship provides financial support to high school students as well as undergraduate students entering college for the first time. The purpose of the scholarship is to help under-served students who may not be eligible for other scholarships.

Students who have either graduated from high school or earned their G.E.D. may apply. Minimum grade point average is 2.0. Students must have a strong desire to go to college and earn their degree. Students must also have a desire to give back to their communities.

Jesse Jackson's PUSH Excel Scholarship Program

PUSH Excel Scholarship Program awards a number of scholarships each year to deserving students who plan to attend college but do not have the resources to pay for tuition. Each scholarship is open to students who meet the requirements.

Jesse L. Jackson Sr. Fellows Scholarships are awarded to high school students with a grade point average of 3.0 or above. Applications will be judged on academic performance and a 500 word essay describing obstacles they have overcome in order to pursue their education goals. The Cirilo McSween Scholarship is awarded to students who are majoring in business. They must be currently enrolled in college and have a grade point average of 3.0 or above.

Kraft General Foods Scholarship

Kraft General Foods Scholarship is for female high school seniors through college seniors who are interested in careers in skilled trades or manufacturing technology. Applicants must be women and/or minorities who reside in Michigan.

Applicants must be pursuing careers in the construction trades, science technologies, engineering-related fields, and mechanic and repair technologies. The scholarship is for residents of Calhoun County, Michigan, who are interested in skilled trades or manufacturing technology careers. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be women and/or minorities.

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) Diversity Scholarships

To encourage greater diversity amongst its developer community, Apple is offering scholarships to provide students and developers the opportunity to attend their annual Worldwide Developers Conference which is usually held in San Francisco, California.

The scholarships are open to students and members or alumni of the STEM organizations Apple has selected, and are available to those over the age of 13. In addition, unlike regular WWDC attendees, these scholarship recipients won’t have to be a member of one of Apple’s paid developer programs. However, interested student developers will have to do more than just submit an application.

Thurgood Marshall College Fund Scholarships

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) provides scholarships that enable students to attend one of the nation's public Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The scholarship is based on financial need.

Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above and demonstrate financial need in order to apply. Students approved for a scholarship may choose to attend any one of 47 TMCF member schools. They must be students who demonstrate leadership qualities and service to their communities and must be recommended by a school faculty or staff member.

Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) African American Heritage Scholarships

Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) African American Heritage Scholarships are offered to outstanding black high-school seniors who are interested in pursuing careers in technology. High-school seniors of African descent may apply (for example, African American, Caribbean, African, etc).

Applicants must plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or a business program such as finance, business administration, or marketing. Students must have a GPA of 3.3 or above and demonstrate financial need. Two scholarships are awarded. Scholarships are renewable up to four years of college.

Chattanooga Hamilton County Retired Teachers Association (CHCRTA) Scholarship

The Chattanooga Hamilton County Retired Teachers Association (CHCRTA) Scholarship assists students who want to pursue a future in teaching. Ms. Sharon Vandagriff, the president of CHCRTA, said, "Providing scholarships for future teachers is one of the most important things we do. We can have a positive impact on education by attracting highly talented individuals into the teaching profession."

In this regard, they are accepting applications to four different scholarships. Each have different qualifying criteria. It includes:

Monsanto STEM Fellowship

Monsanto STEM Fellowship is open to high achieving minority students pursuing a PhD degree in agriculture or a STEM related discipline. All racial ethnic minorities and women may apply.

Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be a U.S. citizen or legal resident, and be in good standing at their institution. The awards can be applied to tuition, books, and fees.

Jeanette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund For Low Income Women

The Jeannette Rankin Women's Scholarship Fund awards scholarships every year to low-income women who are 35 years of age or older. Named after Jeannette Rankin, the first woman elected to Congress, the fund has awarded over $1.8 million in scholarships to over 700 women since 1978.

Aiming to assist women who have a vision of how their education will benefit themselves, their families and their communities, the fund requires applicants to be in an undergraduate or vocational training program. In addition, applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States, and must meet the maximum net household income guidelines.

APIASF/Target Scholarship

APIASF/Target Scholarship is open to students of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity who have financial need. Preference is given to Pharmacy majors and college upperclassmen.

Applicants must be full-time students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher. Candidates must be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply.

Out to Innovate Scholarships

Out to Innovate Scholarships are available to LGBTQ students interested in pursuing a STEM career. The scholarships are offered to undergraduate and graduate students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or students who are an active ally of the LGBTQ community.

Applicants must be pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) programs. Two scholarships are awarded annually. Students can be currently enrolled at any U.S.-based college or university. Candidates must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above. They must have also completed a minimum of two years of post-high school education at an accredited college or university.

Carole Simpson Scholarship

Carole Simpson Scholarship was established to help minority students overcome obstacles in their career path in electronic journalism. The scholarship is open to college students who will be sophomores, juniors or seniors and are pursuing careers in radio, television, or digital journalism.

Applicants must be full-time students enrolled in an accredited college or university and be in good standing at their institution. Their application must include a cover letter that describes their current and past journalism experience, why they chose a career in journalism, and how they intend to use their scholarship funds.

Tom Joyner Foundation "Full Ride" Scholarship

The Tom Joyner Foundation "Full Ride" Scholarship awards a full scholarship to one student to attend a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). The scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors with high academic records.

To qualify, students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or above, SAT score of 2100 or higher, and ACT score of 30 or above. The scholarship covers all tuition expenses such as tuition, room and board, books and fees. The scholarship is renewable for up to 10 semesters, making it a full-ride scholarship for one deserving student.

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Scholarships

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Scholarships are awarded to outstanding high school seniors who intend to pursue a baccalaureate degree in communications with emphasis on any aspect of the television industry.

The awards are funded by the NATAS foundation. Five scholarships are available.

The Collective Bill Caspare Memorial Fund Scholarship

The Collective Bill Caspare Memorial Fund Scholarship is open to LGBTQ students interested in careers in new media, digital advertising, or data science. African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic, and Native American students are also encouraged to apply. One student each year will receive a scholarship.

Qualifications:

• African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, Native American, Multiracial or LGBTQ
• Full-time student
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• Undergraduate junior or senior or a fully enrolled graduate student at the time of application
• GPA of 3.25 or above
• Interested in pursuing a career in New Media/Digital Advertising and/or Data Science

CBC Spouses Education Scholarship

CBC Spouses Education Scholarship is for African-American students of all majors who are preparing to pursue or are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree full-time at a U.S. accredited college or university. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply.

• GPA of 2.5 or above
• Leadership ability and participation in community service activities
