Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarships For Minority Students

Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarships
Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarships (RMHC) are awarded to eligible high school students with high academic performance and community service as well as financial need. Four types of scholarships are available for students who might not otherwise have an opportunity to attend college.

There are four types of scholarship awards: RMHC/Scholars is open to all students. RMHC/Asia is available for Asian-Pacific students. RMHC/African American Future Achievers accepts applicants of African American or Black Caribbean heritage, and RMHC/Hacer is open to Hispanic/Latino students.

Applicants must be high school seniors, must be younger than 21 years old, and must be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college, university or technical school with a full course of study. Applicants must also maintain a grade point average of 2.7 and contribute at least 25 hours of community service in order to be eligible.

RMHC is the official foundation of McDonald's Corporation, and their mission is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children. Since 1985, more than $48 million in scholarships have been awarded to extend educational support to students in financial need.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in JANUARY of each year, and the award amount is usually $2,000 - $8,000.
