Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship Contest is open nationally, according to each state's quota, for high school seniors planning to pursue a four-year degree program at a U.S. college or university.

Students must be U.S. citizens and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship awards are based on academic achievement as well as the student's interest in leadership. The Elks National Foundation awards 500 Most Valuable Student  scholarships per year ranging from $1,000 - $15,000 per year and are renewable for all four years of college. Applicants for the Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship do not have to be Elks members or related to Elks members in order to apply.

In addition to the Most Valuable Student Scholarship, the Elks National Foundation offers 250 Legacy Awards to children or grandchildren of living Elks members and the Emergency Educational Grant program for children of deceased or disabled Elks. Through its three scholarship programs, the Elks National Foundation awards more than $3.6 million a year in college scholarships.

The Elks National Foundation was established in 1928. Its mission is to build stronger communities and improve the quality of life in local Elks communities. Through donor contributions, the Elks National Foundation has an endowment fund of $495.8 million.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in NOVEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $4,000 - $60,000.
