Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

Prudential Spirit Of Community Awards
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards recognizes students active in volunteer community service who are making a positive impact within their neighborhoods. The program is available to students who are legal residents of the U.S. or Washington, D.C.

Eligible students must be actively involved in community projects for at least 12 months prior to applying. Those who win at the state level receive a $1,000 award, and national winners receive an additional $5,000 award and a grant of $5,000 from the Prudential Foundation to give to their choice of charities. Students are recognized at ceremonies in Washington, D.C.

The awards are sponsored by Prudential Financial and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). The program, established in 1995, is based entirely on volunteer efforts in the community by youth.

Prudential Financial is a leading financial services company that is also a strong supporter of community volunteer work. Through the Prudential Foundation, they fund projects that improve education, housing and youth services.

NASSP is a national organization representing principals and education leaders in more than 45 countries by providing resources and networking to improve education and student performance.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in NOVEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,000 - $5,000.
