Mexican American Dream Scholarship

Mexican American Dream Scholarship
Mexican American Dream Scholarship is for Latino immigrants or descendants of immigrants who plan to attend either a two-year community college, a four-year accredited college or university, or pursue graduate studies.

Eligible students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above, be active in their community and demonstrate financial need. They must also be members of the Council of Mexican Federations and if awarded a scholarship must agree to attend and participate in both the Annual Scholarship Reception and the COFEM Annual Conference.

The scholarship is sponsored by The Council of Mexican Federations (COFEM) which was formed more than 30 years ago to create opportunities and support equality for Latinos in North America. COFEM represents organizations in the Mexican Republic who create programs and events that unite immigrants and Latin American immigrant communities.

COFEM focuses on the areas of education, health, civic participation, bi-national economic development, and organizational development. The scholarships give students who are immigrants an opportunity to fulfill their dream of attending college and improving their economic and social futures.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in OCTOBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $500 - $2,000.
