Ossie Davis Endowment Scholarship Program
The Ossie Davis Endowment Scholarship Program awards scholarships to African American high school seniors who will be enrolled full-time in a four- year Historically Black College or University (HBCU).

Students must be interested in the arts and be able to use their artistic talents to address social concerns and issues. Eligible majors include African American Studies, Communications, Fine Arts, Humanities, Performing Arts, Political Science, Social Sciences, Theater Arts/Drama.

Ossie Davis was a writer, actor, activist, director and producer that was a star on stage and screen for more than 50 years. He is known for his appearances in the series Evening Shade and The Cosby Show, as well as film performances dating from 1950. Ossie was a firm believer in education, stating "Knowledge is power and as such holds every key to every chain and shackle - it always did, it always will."

The scholarship program is managed by UNCF (United Negro College Fund) whose mission is to raise funds that enable students from low- and moderate-income families to afford college. The organization has already helped 10,000 students with scholarships and internship programs.
