 RBC Black History Month Student Essay Competition
RBC Black History Month Student Essay Competition is offered by the Royal Bank of Canada for Canadian students. Eligible students include high school students from Toronto who are planning to attend a college or university in Canada.

Three scholarships will be awarded and include a first, second and third prize winner. The essay consists of writing in 750 words or less how black Canadians have contributed toward the heritage of Canada. The essay can include discussion about the achievements of Black Canadians. Essays will be judged by content, organization of thoughts, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

The scholarship competition is held every year during Black History Month to encourage students to learn more about the contributions and achievements of Black Canadians. In addition to a scholarship, the first prize winner receives a Me to We trip to
Ghana. The trip covers all expenses, including airfare, meals and activity fess. They will also receive language lessons and training in leadership skills.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in DECEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $1,500 - $5,000.
