The purpose of the scholarship is to enable students to attend college and not be burdened with college debt when they graduate. The scholarship is renewable for four years of college. The scholarship is open to Minnesota residents who meet the academic criteria and demonstrate financial need.
Students must plan to enroll full-time as an undergraduate student in a four-year accredited college or university in Minnesota. They must have a grade point average of 2.5 or above. Scholarship recipients are required to live on campus the first year. The scholarship is for undergraduates only. Up to two scholarships are awarded each year.
The Catch a Break! Scholarship Program is managed by Scholarship Management Services, the largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs in the nation. The organization manages scholarships for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals who sponsor the scholarships.
The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount is usually $10,000.
