GE Foundation Scholarships

GE Foundation Scholarship Program offers 10 scholarships for minority or low-income students entering college. The scholarships are based on both academic merit and financial need.

The GE STAR Awards competition is open to high school seniors who are children of eligible GE employees and retirees worldwide. The award is a one-time only scholarship for a four-year college or two-year community college/vocational-technical school. Students studying engineering or business may apply for the GE Foundation Scholar-Leaders Program scholarship.

The GE Foundation Tech Award is for students attending a university in China. It recognizes innovation in new technology, design, research methods and applications among students in China. The program is open to graduate students and includes monetary awards, and participation in workshops with top company researchers and business executives.

The GE Foundation has given more than $27.5 million to deserving students around the world. The GE Foundation is the charitable arm of General Electric. Its goal is to help students gain access to better education that will help them compete and succeed in a global economy. GE was first established in 1890 by Thomas Edison, known as the Edison General Electric Company. The company is a world leader in lighting, transportation, industrial products, power transmission, and medical equipment.
