The National Physical Science Consortium

The National Physical Science Consortium
The National Physical Science Consortium offers fellowships in science, mathematics, and engineering to graduate students. The NPSC Graduate Fellowship covers tuition and other expenses up to six years.

The fellowship program covers tuition, an expense allowance, up to two paid internships with a government agency, and a research or teaching assistantship. Students studying in the physical sciences and pursuing a M.S. or PhD. may apply. The program is the result of a partnership between government agencies and laboratories, industry, and higher education. The Consortium includes universities in just about every state in the country.
The purpose of the fellowship program is to encourage more U.S. students to pursue advanced degrees in the sciences. Eligible fields of study include Astronomy, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Materials Science, Mathematical Sciences, Physics, and related engineering fields such as Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, and Mechanical.

The National Physical Science Consortium, based in Los Angeles, California, was founded in 1989. Since its beginning, the organization has awarded 467 graduate fellowships to deserving students. Ninety-five percent of NPSC fellows include minority, female, or both, and students who have been historically underrepresented in the field of science.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in NOVEMBER of each year, and the award amount is usually $20,000.
