Freeport-McMoRan Foundation Scholarship
Freeport-McMoRan Foundation Scholarships are available to current full-time college sophomores, juniors and seniors who are majoring in mining-related degrees. Eligible programs include engineering, metallurgical engineering or geology/geological engineering.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or students attending a North American university but are citizens of Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chile, Peru, Canada, Mexico or Australia. Candidates must attend one of the participating schools.

Participating colleges are located across the U.S. in Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Virginia. Candidates need to submit applications through their participating college; a GPA of 2.7 or above is required, along with the completion of a personal essay and questionnaire.

The Freeport-McMoRan Foundation funds scholarships through select universities across North America. Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is a leading international natural resources company with headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. Their natural resources include copper, gold, molybdenum, cobalt, oil and natural gas.

The deadline for this scholarship is usually in MARCH of each year, and the award amount VARIES.
